The Anchors You Choose

You don't rise to your intentions. You live inside what you've built.

The Realization That Changes Everything

I've learned so much. Why do I still fall back?

You've done the work. You've looked honestly at your life, named what you want, untangled old patterns, and begun to see yourself more clearly than you have in years.

And yet — something keeps pulling you backward. Old behaviors. Old rhythms. Old ways of responding that you thought you were done with.

"The insight was real. The intention was real. But I walked back into the same environment — and became the same person."

Here's what most people miss: awareness alone doesn't change your life. Your environment does.

The people around you. The structure of your days. The routines you rely on. The boundaries you hold — or don't hold. The way your time, space, and energy are actually organized, right now.

If the infrastructure of your life hasn't changed, you will keep defaulting to who you used to be — no matter how much you've grown on the inside.

This session is about changing that.

The Central Question of This Session

"What needs to exist around me so I can keep becoming who I am trying to become?"

You are not just working on yourself. You are designing the world you live inside of.

From Your Anchor Map — One Action

What is the single most important thing you will build or change in the next 30 days?

S5 Anchor 1 – What Matters – rachelboone.com
Anchor One

What Matters

Narrowing to what is actually true for you right now

Why this anchor? When everything feels important, nothing gets protected. Before you can build anything that holds, you need to know what you're actually building around. Your values are not a list you memorize. They're the answer to the question: what am I unwilling to keep sacrificing?
  • ♡ When have you felt most like yourself in the last year? What were you doing, and what did that moment allow?
  • ♡ What have you consistently made time for — even when it was hard — because it felt non-negotiable to you?
  • ♡ What are you no longer willing to keep trading away? What has been too costly to keep ignoring?
  • ♡ If you had to describe what a truly aligned day looks like for you, what would always be present in it?
  • ♡ What do you find yourself defending — internally or out loud — because something important is being threatened?

Narrow It Down

From everything you've explored, choose the three things that matter most right now.

Core Value 1
Core Value 2
Core Value 3
Remember: These aren't aspirational. They're already true. You're not picking who you want to be — you're naming who you already are at your best.
S5 Anchor 2 – What Protects Me – rachelboone.com
Anchor Two

What Protects Me

Boundaries aren't walls — they're the shape of what matters

Why this anchor? A boundary isn't about keeping people out. It's about protecting what you've named as essential. Every boundary you set is a statement about what you value — and every time you don't set one, something you care about pays the price.

Old framing

"I need to set boundaries so people don't take advantage of me."

This framing

"I protect what matters by being clear about what I'm available for — and what I'm not."

  • ♡ Look at the three core values you named in Anchor 1. What regularly threatens them? Where do they get sacrificed most?
  • ♡ Where do you consistently feel resentment, exhaustion, or depletion — and what agreement (spoken or unspoken) is underneath that pattern?
  • ♡ What do you keep saying yes to that your values say no to? What does that cost you?
  • ♡ What boundary, if you held it consistently, would most change the quality of your daily life?
  • ♡ What would you need to believe about yourself in order to hold that boundary — even when it's uncomfortable?

The Boundary Builder

Name two boundaries that would directly protect your core values. Write what they protect — and what you'll say.

What Grounds Me

Your Come-Back-to-Myself List

Why this anchor? You will lose yourself. Not because you're weak — because you're human. Life will pull you sideways. Stress will narrow your vision. Old patterns will surface. The question isn't whether you'll drift. It's whether you have a reliable path back. This anchor is that path.
  • ♡ What activities, practices, or experiences consistently bring you back to yourself — even in small ways?
  • ♡ When you've felt most centered and regulated — what was happening in your body, your environment, or your day?
  • ♡ What's the earliest warning sign that you're losing yourself — before it becomes a full spiral?
  • ♡ What tiny practice, done even for 10 minutes, resets your emotional state more reliably than anything else?
  • ♡ Who or what in your life has most reliably helped you return to yourself — and what do they provide that you can't always give yourself?

My Come-Back-to-Myself List

Name the 8 things — practices, people, places, rituals — that bring you back when you've drifted.

The goal: This list is not aspirational. It's operational. These are the actual things that work for you — so when you need them most, you don't have to think. You just reach for the list.
S5 Anchor 4 – Who Gets to Build With Me – rachelboone.com

Who Gets to Build With Me

Relationships, proximity, and the people who belong in your next chapter

Why this anchor? Some people in your life support who you are becoming. Others, consciously or not, were more comfortable with who you used to be. Both can love you. But only one group belongs in close proximity to what you're building. This isn't about cutting people off — it's about being honest about who belongs where.
  • ♡ Who in your life currently makes you feel more like yourself — more seen, more capable, more alive?
  • ♡ Who in your life has been more comfortable with your old self — and how do you feel after spending time with them?
  • ♡ Who do you go to when you need to think clearly, feel supported, or be challenged in the right way?
  • ♡ Is there someone you need more of? Someone you need to bring into closer proximity — a mentor, a peer, a community?
  • ♡ What does your inner circle need to believe about you — and about what's possible for you — in order to be truly supportive?

Who supports my becoming

People who believe in this version of you and what you're building:

Who benefits from the old me

People who may resist, unconsciously, who you're becoming:

One action from this anchor: Choose one person who belongs in your inner circle for this chapter — and make a plan to be more intentional about that relationship this month.
S5 Anchor 5 – How My Life Actually Works – rachelboone.com
Anchor Five

How My Life Actually Works

Structure, calendar, and time that matches what you've said matters

Why this anchor? You can state your values all day. But your calendar tells the truth. How you actually spend your time, where your energy actually goes, and what your daily rhythms actually look like — that's the real system you're living inside of. If it doesn't match what you've said matters, it's not aligned yet. This is where you build alignment.
  • ♡ If you audited last week honestly — where did your time actually go? How much of it reflected your stated values?
  • ♡ What routine, if it existed consistently, would change the quality of your mornings / evenings / weeks?
  • ♡ What is currently eating your time or energy in ways that don't serve what you're building?
  • ♡ What would need to be protected as non-negotiable in your weekly schedule for your core values to actually show up?
  • ♡ If you designed your ideal week from scratch — honoring your energy, your values, and your life — what would it look like?

The Alignment Audit

For each area, name where you currently spend time — and whether it matches your core values.

Area of Life
Current Reality
Aligned? Change needed?
Work / Career
Mornings / Evenings
Relationships
Health / Body
Rest / Play / Joy
Growth / Learning
The structure you build now is not a to-do list. It is the scaffolding that holds your transformation in place when motivation fades and life gets loud.
S5 Anchor 6 – What I Do When I Lose My Way – rachelboone.com
Anchor Six

What I Do When I Lose My Way

Your personal reset plan — written before you need it

Why this anchor? The goal of this work is not to never fall apart. It's to know what to do when you do. A reset plan written in a calm moment is far more useful than trying to find your footing while you're already spinning. You write this now — so that future you has something to reach for.
  • ♡ In the past, what has it looked like when you've lost your way — specifically? What behaviors, patterns, or feelings show up first?
  • ♡ What do you know about yourself in those moments? What do you need most — and what do you tend to reach for that doesn't actually help?
  • ♡ What has brought you back before — genuinely? Not what you think should work, but what has actually worked for you?
  • ♡ What's the one thing you most need to hear when you've lost your way — and who is the person most able to say it to you?
  • ♡ What permission do you want to give yourself — right now, from this grounded place — for the next time it gets hard?

My Personal Reset Plan

Write this in your own words — a plan for future you, from the you who's clear right now.

1
When I notice I've lost my way, it looks like…
2
The first thing I will do is…
3
The person I will call or reach out to is…
4
What I need to remember in that moment is…
5
The permission I give myself is…
The ladder leads all the way back. Every time you find your way back to yourself, you get better at the return. The path home gets shorter. That is the work.
S5 Closing – The Anchors You Choose – rachelboone.com

The Anchors You Choose · Session Five Complete

You don't rise to your intentions.
You live inside what you've built.

The work you've done today isn't a set of good ideas. It's a map. A structure. A plan written by the most honest, most grounded version of you — so that when life gets loud and old patterns pull, you have something real to come back to.

"I have named what matters. I know what I'm building around."
"I have built structures that support who I am becoming."
"I know how to find my way back. And I will find it, every time."
"My next chapter has a foundation. And I built it."

You're not starting over from nothing.

You're building from everything you've learned.
