NTRINSX
Everyone is unique in their temperament and personality. Your intrinsic values can be represented at a high level by a combination of all four colors.
All text and information from this page is from Intrinsc Systems, LLC and is used for the sole purpose of promoting the nextrix survey and sharing my intrinsic values with you.
When you chose the color that you feel is ‘most like you’, you identified the most prominent aspect of your personality. That says a lot about you, but it isn’t the whole story. Your other three colors play an equally important role in your behavior and in your relationships. How you use this information is up to you, but consider this. By sharing your colors with others, you are giving them the opportunity to engage with you in a way that respects your intrinsic values. They’ll appreciate that. And, the more you understand the values of those around you—business colleagues, family, friends, social acquaintances—the better equipped you are to nurture mutually beneficial relationships.
Intrinsic Profiles showcase your colors in general, at work, at home, with friends, yourself view and your worldview.
GENERAL
As a Green/Blue you think about how the world around you impacts people and you envision ways to make that world a better place. Being Green/Blue/Orange you define “better” as more fun, more exciting, more loving, more fulfilling. You will promote whatever it takes, no matter how different, for people to be caring, inspired and productive.
With Green as your brightest color you have a personal strategy in which you envision your role in life and how you will make a difference in the lives of others. This “grand plan” for yourself keeps you aligned with your own mission as you explore new opportunities through experiences with others. In fact, you are most often in esteem when others share their challenges with you and you are allowed to use your intellectual strengths to advise others to improve their situation in a way that aligns with your own world view.
Your Blue side draws you to the social relationships between people. You genuinely want to help people improve their lives and you are confident that your influence will do just that. In fact, it is your self-confidence that motivates you to openly share your ideas and apply your intellect to help others address their problems or enhance their personal well-being. You not only promote your ideas, but you readily share your personal experiences, setting yourself as an example for the benefit of others. You don’t do this to be braggadocious, and you are not particularly self-deprecating either. You are just being honest and open. Your motive, if you have one, is to advance your ideas while making meaningful connections, demonstrating empathy, and reinforcing your point.
Your third color, Orange, keeps you focused on your mission. Others appreciate the fact that, while you engage with them on a personal level, you do so in a way that is efficient and respectful of their time. Nothing will keep you from pursuing your mission in life. No idle chit chat – if you’re talking you have a reason to be talking. If others are talking it is likely to be in response to your prompting as you steer the conversation.
As a Green/Blue/Orange you tend to think creatively and act purposefully to advance your ideas. You are skilled at taking abstract concepts and bringing them down to earth with concrete, practical examples. Since Gold is your dimmest color you probably don’t overly concern yourself with convention. Not that you intentionally break the rules, at least not ones you consider valid and important, but you are more concerned about doing what is most effective and helpful. Just keep in mind that the devil can be in the details.
AT WORK
With Orange as your brightest color, you are driven to get things done. Not to dwell on any one thing too long, you are easily bored if your work becomes too routine. You prefer to keep things informal, and for good reason. For you, formality is too tedious and unfriendly. Your sense of humor is central to your personality and you like to keep it light, flexible and fun. After all, it’s the results that count.
Your second color, Green, feeds your Orange need to try new things. Your Green curiosity coupled with your Orange sense of adventure gives you an intellectual perspective that presents opportunities others would not see. You are more than happy to lead the way and you rely on your experience and personal observation for direction when taking on new challenges. Risk of failure doesn’t deter you because you are confident in your ability to navigate through any unexpected hurdles. While you consider your options, you don’t over-analyze. And, if things don’t go the way you envisioned you accept it and move on.
With Blue as your third color, you tend to be open and honest in expressing your feelings, which is consistent with the outgoing, quick-witted, charming nature of your Orange personality. Your Blue-ness supports your Green ability to express complex and abstract concepts creatively, resulting in innovative solutions to problems, or entirely new ways of doing things. And, your optimism inspires others to follow your lead.
As Gold is your palest color, you prefer to remain high-level, leaving the details to others. You certainly understand the value Gold people deliver, but you believe you can be much more productive in a role as a strategist, advisor, or consultant. You also know yourself pretty well and fully appreciate that dealing with the day-to-day details will only lead to stress and personal unhappiness.
AT HOME
You have a clear sense of right and wrong and you are inclined to hold others to those standards, both at work and in your personal life. You are dependable and disciplined and, although you prefer to work quietly behind the scenes, you don’t hesitate to hold others accountable for the sake of order and precision. With a strong work ethic and a confident, determined attitude, you bring a certain degree of stability to your organization that others soon realize that they can count on.
Being Gold, you respect authority and you value rules. You insist on quality and adherence to standards of performance and conduct. If an established procedure doesn’t address the situation at hand, you will decide the course of action and take the necessary steps to see that your decision is enforced. Like other Gold’s you are happy to
get involved in a service or support role in group activities and community service.
Your Green/Orange attributes make you a good negotiator. You naturally think through your options before taking a position. And, when you do take a position, you tend to be decisive and direct with an informal, down to earth communication style. Depending on the relative intensities of your Orange and Blue, you may be inclined to address others in concrete terms without regard for their feelings – not because you don’t care about them – it’s just better not to confuse the facts with emotion. It is for this reason that you are quite often the one who is called upon to make the tough calls and make sure that people comply.
WITH FRIENDS
Being process oriented, you efficiently carry out procedures that have been proven or that you have determined to be logically valid. It’s important to you that you understand the impact of what you are doing, but once you are clear on the why you can remain focused on getting it done. Your Gold/Green mindset is a huge advantage for you, particularly in situations where inputs to the process may be somewhat variable, as is always the case when people are involved.
Being Gold, you are good at following procedures and/or directing others because you understand the importance of predictability in the process. And when things don’t go exactly as planned, your Green-ness gives you the ability to think through the possible outcomes so you can make logical decisions to get things back on track quickly. This innate ability of yours is especially important in a team production environment where an upstream decision could significantly amplify downstream problems, resulting in lower productivity, higher cost, and/or reduced quality.
Your Green/Blue attributes make you a good arbitrator and, when decisions involving others need to be made, you are good at positioning the situation in a way that all parties can understand and relate to. You can be innovative and creative when necessary, and you seek win-win solutions. Even when the right decision requires others to compromise, you get their buy-in by making your case logically and with genuine empathy for their situation. Others appreciate that about you. They know that in your heart your first priority is doing what’s right and, even though you won’t compromise what you believe to be important, you’re always open to others’ opinions. After all, that’s how you learn and develop, too.
The fact that Orange is your dimmest color is no surprise to those who know you well. You tend to be methodical and think things through. Any risks that you take are highly calculated based on validated data or grounded in accepted tradition.
SELF VIEW
Being Orange/Blue, you influence people to look at things differently. You have big ideas and are willing to take risks to get where you want to go. When you make up your mind to do something you get right to it, enlisting the resources you need and motivating them to participate in your adventure. And getting others to rally around your ideas is no problem because you have an uplifting energy that people are naturally drawn to.
Other people want to be around you, especially when they want to feel good about themselves, or just want to enjoy life. That’s you — you’re naturally upbeat, and enthusiastic. Because you like to be around people and you prefer it when people get along, you don’t shy away from getting involved in helping others deal with conflicts. You take quick action, and you’re genuinely concerned about everyone involved — at home, at work, and with your friends.
You’re naturally creative in whatever you choose to do. You’re also naturally good at making tasks more personal and more exciting. You do better when you’re given the freedom to use your creativity, and you enjoy relationships where you can be part of a dynamic group. Because of your need to support and care for others, you often find that your friends depend on you. You don’t hesitate to put your talents to good use, even when it means sacrificing your own needs. Of course, some people might take advantage of your good nature and generosity. But remember - real friends will give as much as they take from their relationship with you.
As an Orange/Blue/Green/Gold, you always think of new ways to engage with people and give more meaning to their lives. Your Green supports your Blue with new ideas, and supports your Orange in finding ways to do things differently – traits that are invaluable in your work and your community. Depending on the relative intensity of your Green, you may withdraw at times when you feel that you need private time to think. Most of the time though, you prefer to brainstorm, even debate ideas with others whose opinions you respect.
Your enthusiastic, can-do, innovative nature ensures that you’ll discover many interesting opportunities. However, when your efforts to move forward are blocked you feel unappreciated and can lose interest quickly. And, with Gold as your last color, be careful not to neglect your responsibilities at work and at home. They may not be as enjoyable for you (OK, they are definitely not as enjoyable for you), but it’s essential to your overall well-being to make sure that important things don’t fall between the cracks.
WORLD VIEW
As a Green/Blue you think about how the world around you impacts people and you envision ways to make that world a better place. Being Green/Blue/Gold you intuitively see the environment at work, home and in your world view, and interpret the effect that environment has on relationships, performance, and well-being.
With Green as your brightest color, you are very observant, always evaluating behaviors against your own yardstick for social harmony and human achievement. As you mentally scan the situations happening around you, you intuit cause- effect scenarios that would result in a better outcome for the people involved or society in general. Those scenarios may entail some activity (or break in activity) that would help people engage better with each other. Or, they may
envision improvements in the environment that would foster more harmony amongst its participants, such as policy adjustments, new tools, training, or even organizational changes.
Your Blue side keeps you in tune with people. It steers your thinking, yet keeps you open-minded and accepting of the fact that everyone is different. In fact, you appreciate that everyone has different values, life experiences, and personal relationships that form their character, ideas, and behavior. Not only does this help you understand and make sense of what is happening in the moment, but it also helps you tailor your thinking to account for the unique motivations of the individuals involved. And this is one of your most influential strengths because people know they can count on you to take an objective position and, at the same time, offer a diplomatic perspective that appeals to the values of all involved.
Your third color, Gold, grounds you in the realities of your environment. These realities temper your Green analytical nature and Blue creativity to anchor your ideas and influence, keeping within established norms and maintaining order. This sense of compliance is not lost on you and, although seemingly counter-intuitive with respect to your Green/Blue inventiveness, you know that order and tradition nurtures a sense of belonging and reduces conflict, which could stem from chaotic behavior.
To those who know you well it makes sense that Orange is your dimmest color. Your natural tendency is to quietly observe, think things through and engage in meaningful conversation. In fact, you can go on for hours and be perfectly content to meld your ideas with others. You don’t have a particular need to reach a quick conclusion and you certainly don’t want to make, what is in your mind, a hasty decision. Of course, this will seem strange, even unsettling, for those with brighter Orange than you. And, you’ll realize that is happening when those bright Oranges start talking over you, interrupting you to move the conversation to a different topic, or even abruptly leaving the conversation. Just try to be mindful of others’ time and priorities.
